Call 999 immediately
30 chest compressions — hard and fast, 5–6cm deep
2 rescue breaths (if trained)
Continue 30:2 until ambulance arrives
Choking

Encourage them to cough
5 firm back blows between shoulder blades
5 abdominal thrusts (Heimlich manoeuvre)
Alternate back blows and thrusts
Call 999 if not resolved
Severe bleeding
▼
Apply firm direct pressure to the wound
Keep pressing — do not remove dressing
Raise the injured area above the heart if possible
Call 999
Unresponsive person
▼
Check for danger
Shout for help, call 999
Open airway — tilt head, lift chin
Check for normal breathing (10 seconds)
If not breathing — start CPR
If breathing — recovery position
